Qatar is all set to enter Phase 3 of the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions on Tuesday, July 28, according to the announcement made at the Ministry of Public Health's press conference yesterday.

The next phase that coincides with the Eid Al Adha 2020 festivities will see a series of eased COVID-19 measures including the reopening of gyms, barbershops, outdoor swimming pools, restaurants, in addition to capacity changes at facilities.

Earlier, MoPH revealed that a restricted number of mosques and Eid musallahs will be opened during Phase 3 for Friday and Eid prayers.

Now, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has confirmed that an additional 300 mosques will be re-opened from the Fajr (dawn) prayers tomorrow.

The mosques will follow the same preventive and precautionary measures as in place since Phase 1.

The mosques are located across Qatar in these areas: Izghava, Umm Seneem, Al Salata Al Jadeeda, Umm Salal Ali, Umm Salal Mohamed, Umm Ghuwailina, Umm Qarn, Umm Lekhba, Bin Omran, Bin Mahmoud, Bu Sidra, Al Thumama, Al Jumailiya, Al Khor, Al Duhail, Al Rayyan Al Jadeed, Al Rayyan Al Qadeem, Al Sadd, Simaisma, Al Sailiya, Al Sheehaniya, Al Shamal, Al Azeeziya, Ain Kahled, Al Ghanem Al Jadeed, Al Gharrafa, Fereej bin Omar, Al Luqta, Madinat Al Shamal, Madina Khalifa South, Madina Khalifa North, Al Matar Qadeem, Hamad International Airport, Al Mamoura, Muaither South, Muaither North, Al Najma, Al Wakra, and Al Wukair.

Earlier, Awqaf had highlighted the below safety guidelines to be followed by all worshippers to protect themselves and others against COVID-19:

- worshippers will be required to make ablution at home. The bathroom and ablution places of the mosques will remain closed.

- worshippers should avoid going to the mosques earlier than the prayer time, as the mosques will only open with the call to prayer. 

- worshippers must also avoid crowding the mosque and keep a distance of two meters from others.

- shaking hands even with gloves on must be avoided and worshippers should cover their mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing.

- to enter the mosques, worshippers will need to show their Ehteraz app.

- worshippers are asked to bring their own prayer mat and refrain from sharing it with others or leaving it in the mosque.

- while in the mosques, all worshippers need to wear a face mask.

- worshippers are also asked to bring their own copy of the Holy Quran, which should not be shared with others.

People over 60 years old, children, and those suffering from chronic conditions are advised to pray at home.
