As part of its ambitious plan to provide exceptional service to customers, Al Meera Consumer Goods Company (Q.P.S.C.) has opened its third “MAAR” convenience store at the Umm Ghuwailina metro station.

The MAAR store, meaning ‘passing by’ in Arabic seeks to provide an on-the-go shopping service to commuters on the Doha Metro within the convenience of their journey.

The third store is the latest addition to the convenience store chain, with other stores serving customers at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) and Msheireb metro stations.

In an aim to deliver quality and freshness, Al Meera offers a wide array of everyday essential goods at MAAR, introducing a wide selection of ready-to-eat foods which include sandwiches and snacks.

Passengers traveling through Umm Ghuwailina metro station can access a selection of goods and products with ease, especially useful for commuters who are working on and around the clock schedule.

On the launch of the third store, Al Meera said, “The opening of the third MAAR store at Umm Ghuwailina metro station marks an important milestone in our journey and brings us closer to our vision of serving every neighbourhood in Qatar. At Al Meera, we are continuously focused on making our stores accessible to our large customer base regardless of where they are. “MAAR” brings ease and convenience of quick purchases and readily available food to commuters on the Doha Metro on-the-go, while saving on their valuable time.”

Earlier, as part of its effort to instill environmental-friendly values in society, Al Meera launched a new campaign ‘Truth Bottle’ to raise awareness on wise water consumption in Qatar and the need to preserve the valuable resource as the country moves towards a sustainable future.

The Truth Bottle campaign follows in a series of sustainability initiatives previously led by Al Meera. These include the installation of plastic recycling machines at select stores, the launch of eco-friendly bags, recycling of cardboard cartons and paper, and a battery waste collection initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment that allows customers to dispose of used batteries.
