The Qatar Amiri Air Force came to the rescue of 11 Qatar Petroleum (QP) employees who were stranded on top of one of QP’s northern platforms.

The operation, which was carried out at night, saved employees who had been stranded atop the platform due to bad weather conditions, reported Gulf Times.

A statement from the Defence Ministry said that once they received a distress signal about the stranded employees, they immediately dispatched an Amiri Air Force rescue helicopter from the Al Udaid Air Force base. They managed to find all of the stranded workers safe and they were safely shifted out to Halul Island, according to The Peninsula.

The rescue operation was carried out by an Augusta Westland chopper, which is a multi-mission medical evacuation helicopter and the best in the world for such rescue operations.
