The Cabinet approved taking the necessary measures to issue a draft law regulating health care services within the country during its regular meeting held at the Amiri Diwan yesterday.

Moreover, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's weekly meeting.

At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet applauded the speech of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at the opening session of the General Debate of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, which was held in New York yesterday.

The Cabinet affirmed the significant importance of HH the Amir's participation in the United Nations General Assembly this year, marking the 50th anniversary of Qatar joining the membership of the United Nations since September 21, 1971.

The Cabinet also praised HH the Amir's assertion on the importance of resolving differences between countries through dialogue based on common interests and mutual respect.

Furthermore, the Cabinet was briefed by HE the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments and efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 within the country.

The Cabinet considered the topics listed on its agenda as follows:

  1. Firstly, the Cabinet approved taking the necessary measures to issue a draft law regulating health care services within the country after it reviewed the recommendations of the Shura Council thereon.
  2. Secondly, the Cabinet approved a draft decision of the Minister of the Interior on specifying national address data for making judicial announcements and official notifications.
  3. Through a presentation presented by HE the President of the Planning and Statistics Authority, the Cabinet was briefed on the progress made in the implementation of the strategic plans of government agencies for the second quarter (April-June), in which he shed light on the progress of programs and projects at the overall level of ministries and at the level of each entity, and the most important outputs and progress made in implementing the projects of those plans, their objectives, and the most prominent challenges.

    HE the Prime Minister directed the ministries to work on implementing the appropriate solutions and treatments to meet these challenges and to cooperate with the Planning and Statistics Authority regarding the follow-up of the implementation of projects.
