CNN’s Global Perspectives to make Middle East debut in Doha on October 29

Qatar Media City (QC) today reviewed its preparations to host the "Global Perspectives: In Doha" event, organized by CNN, for the first time in the Middle East and the Gulf region on October 29, in cooperation with Media City Qatar, as the host partner.

During a press conference, Mr. Hamad Omar Al-Mannai, CEO of Qatar Media City, said that the region's growing role and influence in shaping global dialogues reinforces the importance of attracting more international voices to it and communicating the region's views to the global audience through various CNN platforms.

Al-Mannai added that Qatar represents an appropriate destination to host these events, given its role as a reliable mediator on the international scene, a center for dialogue and a bridge of communication between different cultures and perspectives, noting that the "Global Perspectives" event is in line with this role by providing a platform that enhances the presence of the voices of the region alongside global voices.

Ilana Lee, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Asia Pacific and Head of Global Production at CNN, said Doha is a bridge between peoples, cultures and ideas, making it an ideal destination to host the event, which seeks to explore the unseen forces that are reshaping the world order and open the door to in-depth dialogues on major issues affecting the world.

Li explained that the event aims to gather influential voices who differ in their views, and to provide a space for dialogue and discussion that goes beyond daily coverage of events to anticipate global transformations and trends, noting that it represents an extension of the journalistic work that CNN provides through its various platforms, by transmitting discussions directly to the public.

The panel discussions, which will be moderated by a group of CNN anchors and correspondents, will address a range of issues and developments in the fields of artificial intelligence, economics, energy, sports and culture, through in-depth dialogues that shed light on the forces and transformations that are reshaping the global landscape.
