In a significant step to enhance bilateral connectivity, Qatar’s Ministry of Transport recently hosted a delegation from Bahrain at Al Ruwais Port. This visit was part of the ongoing bilateral maritime linkage project aimed at establishing a direct ferry route between the two Gulf neighbours.

The Bahraini delegation was welcomed to inspect the port facilities and review the planned maritime journey route. The visit marked a critical phase in the preparations for launching the maritime line, which promises to boost tourism, trade, and people-to-people connections.

Al Ruwais Port, located in the northern part of Qatar, is a vital hub for maritime activities with its modern facilities and strategic geographical location.

The ferry line is expected to cater to residents, tourists, and business travelers, providing a convenient alternative to air and land travel within the GCC.
