Qatar has always given high importance to the spread of education in the country. As a result, the country is peppered with hundreds of schools following both Qatari and international curricula.
Thousands of children study in private schools belonging to different communities in Qatar. While private schools often maintain their high standards, there had so far not been a comprehensive system to address complaints against them.
But now, things are about to change for the better.
Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced that it is working on an online complaint redressal system targeted exclusively at parents of private school pupils in Qatar, reported Qatar Tribune.
The system is expected to enable parents to register their grievances against schools online, with the ministry following up the cases with respective managements in a time-bound manner.
The system is set to soon be embedded in the private school portal — a unified online window managed by the ministry — featuring a wide range of information about private schools in Qatar.
Department of Private Schools Affairs Director Rawda Al Zeidan said the ministry will act as a link between schools and parents to facilitate effective communication. It will also work to ensure solutions are achieved regarding every complaint.
Al Zeidan said the system will notify parents about when their complaints are sent to school and when action is taken on it.
