Food lovers in the country should be feeling giddy with happiness today. After all, some of the best food under the sun are being brought together at the Qatar International Food Festival, which begins at three different locations in Doha today.

The 11-day celebration of food, which will run until April 8, will take place at the Hotel Park, a scenic location near the Sheraton Doha Hotel overlooking the Doha Corniche, reported Gulf Times.

The Qatar Tourism Authority is highlighting not only private sector entrepreneurs, but also homegrown talent.

The Food festival venue has been divided into zones, with the Main Zone having 73 participating food outlets, reported The Peninsula.

While the Hotel Zone will have 16 participating four and five star hotels, the Cultural Zone will feature authentic food and cultural performances from ten participating countries — Ethiopia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, South Africa, Turkey and the US.

The Healthy Zone will feature organic restaurants and workshops on healthy food and lifestyle.

Meanwhile, organisers have promised that prices of offerings at any of the outlets in the Hotel Zone will not be higher than QR35. The prices start at QR5. Some hotels have already put out menus online.

The unique experience of ‘Dinner in the Sky’ will set you back by QR500 per person. But it is totally worth it.

A new offering this year is the Garden Picnic, where families can pick a basket and blanket to enjoy a casual meal on the grass in the pleasant outdoors.

There will also be a Live Cooking Theatre, fireworks display, and screenings of food-related and international movies by Doha Film Institute.

The venue can accommodate up to 2,500 vehicles, making it easier than ever to find parking space.

The park will also feature a play area, medical room, toilets, prayer room, a number of attractions such as waterfalls, fitness zone, tidal pool, and fountain.

However, cycling and skateboarding is strictly prohibited in the premises.

The eighth edition of QIFF, which is being organized under the theme ‘A Different Side of Food,’ will officially launch at 4pm today. You can know more about QIFF from their official website HERE.
