FACT Qatar Magazine hosted another glamorous awards ceremony for the third annual FACT Dining Awards, on April 10.

The much-anticipated event, sponsored by Qatar Living, Snap TV and Red Apple, was held at one of the city's most popular hotspots, The Rooftop at The St. Regis Doha.

Close to 300 guests were seen mingling, whilst enjoying a night of great company and food and drink, as the winners from the 30 categories were announced.

The who's who of Doha's hospitality industry turned out for the exciting ceremony turned lavish party, with top GMs, F&B directors, chefs, marketing and PR professionals, as well as selected Doha bloggers and social media influencers in attendance.

Embodying FACT's down-to-earth and fun approach, the event was a laid-back and casual affair with lots of fabulous food and a lively vibe.

Speaking after the event, Greg Hughes, CEO at Nans Group, said: "Now in our third year, the FACT Dining Awards has become a highlight on the hospitality calendar in Doha. We are honoured to be able to recognise and award the efforts of all the excellent food and beverage outlets here in Doha.

"The turn out was beyond amazing with nearly 400 people from the industry joining us for an evening of true celebration. I would like to congratulate all the new winners, especially the overall category winners, Trader Vic's and Spice Market.

"It's incredible to see the mutual support shared and received between the media and the hospitality industry in Doha,especially because there are many high-quality restaurants and venues in the city. We thank everyone who came out and helped us to commend the best in the culinary game," he added.

The FACT Dining Awards recognises excellence in the food and beverage industry, with winners awarded based on both public vote and critics' opinion. Each category was given two awards, the BEST and the FAVOURITE.

The latter is the result of a popular choice decided through online voting, and the former is the critic's choice decided by an independent panel of food bloggers, the FACT editorial team and industry experts in Doha.

Some of the standout accolades included Best Newcomer which was awarded to the one of the newest and popular dining haunts in the city – Shanghai Club at Shangri-La Hotel Doha, whilst the Favourite Newcomer went to German Doner Kebab which attracted thousands of votes.

Best overall restaurant in Doha for 2017 went to Spice Market at W Doha Hotel & Residences whilst the social hotspot Trader Vic's at Hilton Doha took home the Favourite overall.

Other notable wins included 5-star hotels like The St. Regis Doha, Four Seasons Hotel Doha, Marsa Malaz Kempinski, InterContinental Doha The City, The Ritz-Carlton Doha, InterContinental Doha, Marriott Marquis City Centre Doha and many more.

This month will also see the third annual FACT Dining Awards take place in Abu Dhabi at the five-star Asia De cUBA. The FACT Dining Awards have also enjoyed seven years of successful campaigns in Bahrain, with hundreds of venues awarded for excellence over the years.
