Even in the midst of the illegal GCC blockade, Qatar’s love and fascination with fancy numbers continue without check.

The most recent example for this came yesterday when Qatari patrons parted ways with QR9.67m for fancy number plates for their cars, reported Gulf Times.

According to Qatar’s Traffic Department, the two-day auction had invited bidding for 22 new special numbers.

Plate number 344444 recorded the highest price — QR1.25m — while the number 3333444 was sold for an amazing QR938,000. 

The other highest price numbers were 441111 for QR770,000 and 444400 for QR630,000. The prices for all other numbers ranged between QR150,000 and QR550,000.
