In a major security operation, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior’s Criminal Investigation Department arrested five individuals for involvement in the smuggling and illegal trafficking of firearms within the country.

Authorities acted after receiving credible intelligence about the suspects’ activities. Following an in-depth investigation, surveillance, and information analysis, law enforcement confirmed the group’s role in the criminal network. A coordinated raid led to their arrest, during which various firearms were seized.

The confiscated weapons have been secured under legal procedures, and the suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution to complete judicial action.

The Ministry of Interior stressed it will take firm action against anyone attempting to disrupt public security through the possession or trade of unlicensed firearms. It reaffirmed its commitment to tracking down such offenders, noting that these crimes are serious and punishable under the law.
