Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani took part in the 147th session of the Ministerial Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf yesterday.

The session was held at the Secretariat General of Cooperation Council headquarters in Riyadh.

Chaired by Bahrain’s Foreign Minister and Chairman of the current session of the Ministerial Council Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the session saw the attendance of the Foreign Ministers of the GCC and the GCC Secretary-General Dr Nayef Falah Mubarak Al Hajraf.

The council reiterated its commitment to the Al Ula agreement that was signed in Saudi Arabia on January 5, 2021, where the Gulf States pledged to enhance joint work for the unity, development, stability and security of the GCC.

The session also underlined that the security of the GCC member states is inseparable and that according to the GCC constituent law and the joint defense treaty the countries should stand together to tackle any external danger.

During the meeting, the ministers also exchanged views on the GCC march and looked into the most recent regional and international developments.
