As part of its annual social responsibility initiative, Radio Malayalam 98.6 FM will welcome 10 wives and five mothers to Qatar this year under the much-celebrated humanitarian programme “For My Love.”
Widely admired and embraced by the expatriate community in Qatar, the sixth edition of For My Love will be held from February 9 to February 16, the organisers announced at a Press conference in Doha.
Organised with the support and cooperation of the Indian community in Qatar, the programme brings together families long separated by the demands of expatriate life. This year, the initiative will host the wives of 10 deserving expatriates who have been working in Qatar for decades, along with five mothers selected from among those living alone back home while their sons pursue their livelihoods abroad.
The organisers described the inclusion of mothers this year as a significant milestone, especially as many of them belong to low-income expatriate families and have spent years in solitude, separated from their children. Extending For My Love to these mothers is seen as a meaningful expansion of the programme’s compassionate vision.

Despite decades of working overseas, many expatriates have never had the opportunity to bring their life partners to the country where they spent most of their working years. Through For My Love, these wives will visit Qatar entirely free of cost for one week. Arriving in Doha on February 9, they will spend the following days experiencing the land where their husbands — and in many cases their children — devoted a major part of their lives. They will also attend receptions organised by various institutions and community organisations.
A public felicitation ceremony will be held on February 10, attended by prominent personalities and senior officials, during which all 10 couples and five mothers will be formally honoured.
Launched in 2018 with 10 wives, For My Love has grown steadily each year, expanding the number of beneficiaries and reaching 14 participants by 2025. Responding to the sentiments of the expatriate community, the organisers decided to include mothers this year, recognising the silent sacrifices of those who spent decades apart from their families.
For My Love stands as a tribute to expatriates who lived alone for years despite having families, and as an acknowledgment of the early migrant generation whose sacrifices played a vital role in shaping their homeland.
The organisers noted that the inspiration behind the programme lies in encouraging the younger generation to recognise, respect, and honour those sacrifices. They also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the wider expatriate community in Qatar for its unwavering support in making the initiative a continued success.
This year’s participants were selected from hundreds of applications received from low-income expatriates who have worked in Qatar for at least 25 years, with nominations made by Radio Malayalam listeners.
Speaking at the Press conference were Anvar Hussain, CEO of Radio Malayalam & QFMC, and Naufal Abdurahman, Deputy General Manager. Representatives of commercial organisations supporting For My Love also addressed the gathering during the official launch ceremony.
