General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers Begins Digital Infrastructure Development Project

The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced the start of implementing a project to develop its digital infrastructure as part of its efforts to enhance the efficiency of its digital systems, support its digital transformation journey, and raise technical readiness and business continuity.

The project was announced during a contract-signing ceremony between the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and Qatar Datamation Systems (QDS), held at the General Secretariat's headquarters in the presence of HE Ibrahim bin Ali bin Issa Al Hassan Al Mohannadi, Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs.

The contract was signed by HE Cabinet Secretary-General Hamad bin Ahmed Hassan Al-Hassan Al-Mohannadi and Abdulrahman Darwish Al-Darwish, Chief Executive Officer of Al Darwish United Group, which owns Qatar Datamation Systems, in the presence of several senior officials from the General Secretariat.

The project aims to establish a modern, integrated technology infrastructure that supports modern systems and strengthens the protection of systems and data through four main pillars: developing digital infrastructure, enhancing business continuity capabilities, raising the security of applications and electronic platforms, and developing the data protection system in line with the highest global standards and practices.

In this context, الشيماء أحمد المالكي, Director of the Information Systems Department at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, said the project's importance extends beyond updating technical components and systems to establishing advanced digital foundations that respond to growing institutional needs. She added that these foundations will provide greater flexibility in adopting modern solutions and technologies, strengthening the General Secretariat's ability to adapt to rapid changes in the government work environment.

Al Malki explained that investment in digital infrastructure is a fundamental pillar of long-term institutional development through building a scalable and upgradeable technology system that accommodates future requirements and supports the continuous development of working methods.

She said the project's strategic value lies in turning this investment into a tangible impact on the efficiency of internal operations and enabling departments to perform their duties more effectively, strengthening the alignment of technological advancement with institutional priorities.

The project reflects the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers' commitment to advancing digital transformation by adopting a secure and flexible technology infrastructure that supports institutional development efficiently and sustainably.

It represents a qualitative step toward building an integrated digital work environment that accelerates delivery and supports data-driven decision-making, in line with the State's direction toward building an advanced and innovative digital government.
