While many international schools have found a prominent place in the country, students always have the option to plan ahead and choose between American or British curricula when shortlisting schools for their children’s education. If you opt for the American educational system, you can expect the usual elementary, middle school, and a high school diploma. 

Here are the top schools teaching with an American curriculum in Qatar:

GEMS American Academy Qatar

GEMS American Academy Qatar (GAAQ) falls under the umbrella of the renowned GEMS Education network of schools and is a highly-rated American curriculum school in Qatar. The school focuses on child-centered learning with an emphasis on education through a rigorous American curriculum from kindergarten to Grade 12. ACS International School Doha

ACS International School Doha has three sister schools in London and is a premier institute that has a landmark campus in Qatar. The school offers an international curriculum focusing on both IB (International Baccalaureate) and AP (Advanced Placement) programs. ACS is the first school in Qatar to offer all four IB programs for ages 3-18. AP programs are offered to students of age 16-18. The school campus features some advanced sports facilities and puts emphasis on after-school sports activities for students.

The Hamilton International School

The Hamilton International School is a part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP) and has a student-centric strategy for education. They follow the American curriculum and offer an American-accredited high school diploma. The curriculum includes Hamilton Early Years Thematic curriculum (kindergarten), International Primary Curriculum (primary school), and an international curriculum for middle and high school. The school also has state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities including a theater big enough to host an orchestra, two swimming pools, and a professional standard football pitch.

American School of Doha (ASD) was set up in 1988 and has ever since provided high-quality learning to students seeking the American curriculum. The school provides fun, collaborative, and creative environments for the students to learn and grow. ASD also offers both AP and IB programs for high school students.

Vision International School (VIS)

Vision International School (VIS) belongs to Al Muftah Group and is a member of the Council for International Schools (CIS). The school academics include an American curriculum along with a focus on Arabic language, Islamic studies, and Qatari history. The campus facilities include a full-sized gymnasium, well-equipped libraries, music labs, art labs, science laboratories, a swimming pool, two cafeterias, and play areas.
