His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with the President of Angola, Joao Manuel Lourenco, at the Amiri Diwan, earlier today.
The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them across different fields, particularly, in energy, investment, and air and maritime transport.
Following the meeting, HH the Amir and President Lourenco witnessed the signing of a protocol on political consultations, an agreement on the abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and special passports, and a maritime transport agreement.

HH the Amir hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of the Angolan President and his accompanying delegation at the Amiri Diwan. A number of Their Excellencies and Ministers joined the banquet.
Earlier, His Excellency Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani also met with the Angolan President to discuss the development of cooperation between the two nations.
The talks focused on exploring ways of strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, in addition to exchanging views on several issues of common concern.
The Angolan President arrived in Doha on Saturday evening for a three-day visit.
Qatar's Minister of Transport and Communications, Qatar's Ambassador to Angola, and Angola's Ambassador to Qatar welcomed President Lourenco upon his arrival at Hamad International Airport.
