HH the Amir honors winners of Education Excellence Award

Qatar has maintained a strong focus on advancing education as one of the top priorities under the Qatar National Vision 2030.

This is reflected in the numerous initiatives the country has introduced to create educational opportunities for students in Qatar and abroad. It is also visible in the way the country supports education seekers, learners, and students with several programs.

The Education Excellence Day, held every year, mirrors the country’s emphasis on education. The day recognizes outstanding students who have gone above and beyond in delivering excellent results.

Yesterday marked the 13th edition of this prestigious event.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani graced the occasion and honored winners of the Education Excellence Award 2020.

Held under the theme “Excellence Builds Generations,” the ceremony saw the attendance of His Excellency the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, several ministers, top officials in education and higher education, researchers, and parents of the top-performing students.

At the ceremony, HH the Amir honored 83 Education Excellence Award winners, which included Master and Doctorate degree holders, university and high school graduates, and primary and preparatory education students.

Winners in the categories of outstanding teacher, school and scientific research were also honored by HH the Amir.

Speaking at the ceremony, HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi said this year’s edition of the Education Excellence Day Award saw significant development with regards to participation and honored individuals.

He said about 300 students and educational institutes competed for the award.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, HH the Amir met with the winners of the Education Excellence Award. He lauded the achievements of the winners and encouraged them to work harder to support the nation’s growth and development.

The winners said they were delighted and honored by HH the Amir’s presence on the occasion and appreciated his words of encouragement.
