His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani performed Eid Al Adha prayer together with citizens at Al Wajba praying area earlier this morning.

The prayer was also attended by HH the Personal Representative of HH the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani and His Excellency Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Several of Their Excellencies Sheikhs, ministers, members of the Shura Council, ambassadors, and citizens also joined the Eid Al Adha prayer.

Court of Cassation judge and Supreme Judiciary Council member, Sheikh Dr Thaqeel Sayer Al Shammari led the Eid prayer and delivered the Eid sermon.

In the sermon, Sheikh Dr Al Shammari underlined the importance of the Day of Sacrifice and that Allah has mentioned it in the Holy Quran as one of the rituals.

This day is considered as one of the greatest with Allah, he mentioned.

He also highlighted the virtues of Takbir, the sacrifice and its purpose in being closer to Allah on the day of sacrifice, a day the feelings of Muslims were united with happiness and Takbir.

He also called on keeping hearts pure and strengthening ties between members of society.
