Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Tobacco Control Center has opened a new smoking cessation clinic at Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital (HMGH) under its strategic plan to provide smoking cessation services across Qatar.

The launch of the new clinic signifies a key milestone for the center in its expansion journey, after the opening of a smoking cessation clinic at Al Wakra Hospital last year.

The dedicated clinic will provide services on Mondays only for now. However, there are plans to expand clinic hours based on the demand in future.

Citizens and residents can book appointments at the clinic by calling: 40240708 or by referral from HMC physicians or Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCC).

Staffed with specialist physicians and nurses, the clinic will help individuals who wish to quit smoking through various services and treatments.

Head of HMC’s Tobacco Control Center Dr Ahmad Al Mulla; Executive Director of HMGH, Hussein Al Ishaq; and Medical Director of HMGH, Ahmed Ali Al Mohammed were in attendance at the opening ceremony.

The introduction of this new clinic at HMGH marks a significant addition to the Tobacco Control Center’s services, targeting residents in the Industrial Area and communities around it.

“The new clinic will support the Center’s mission to raise public awareness on the dangers of tobacco use in addition to providing health and medical advice, as well as behavioral support and counseling for smokers to help them quit the habit,” Dr Al Mulla said.

Individuals residing in the Industrial Area or near HMGH who wish to quit smoking are encouraged to book an appointment at the new clinic and avail its services to achieve their goals.
