Kuwait has begun allowing residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to obtain a tourist visa on arrival, the Ministry of Interior announced Sunday.

The decision, published in the official gazette Kuwait Alyoum and confirmed by First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, grants entry to foreign nationals holding valid residency permits from any GCC member state.

To qualify, applicants must present a GCC residence permit valid for at least six months. The visas will be issued at ports of entry and take effect immediately. The move updates rules first introduced in 2008 governing tourism-related entry among GCC countries.
