All motorheads who love to multitask on their mobile phones while cruising down a highway should better beware.
The Qatari government has given its nod to a draft law that prohibits the use of mobile and other devices while driving. It is also gearing up to make it illegal to put children below 10 years of age on the front seat.
Gulf Times reported that the Cabinet approved a draft law amending some provisions of the Traffic Law and decided to refer it to the Advisory Council.
Under the amendment, the text of Article 55 of the law is replaced, stating that the driver of a motor vehicle undertakes to comply with the following: avoid using any device - whether by carrying it, touching it or watching it - while driving, and not to allow children under the age of 10 to sit in the front seats of the vehicle while it is on the move.
