Simon Jennings grew up in the city of Liverpool, where football is a way of life and every young boy grows up dreaming of being the next Kenny Dalglish or Steven Gerrard (depending on their age!).
However, Simon's dream was a little bit different. As a Liverpool fan, he grew up watching a team that were unbelievably successful and who were lead by some of the greatest coaches and managers the game has ever seen; Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan, and Kenny Dalglish to name just a few.
These great men have had a strong influence on Simon and it was no surprise that he chose to pursue a career in football coaching as a full time profession.
Having worked as a professional coach at Premier League academies such as Everton and Bolton Wanderers F.C, Simon now works at Lekhwiya S.C as a senior coach.
Simon arrived in Qatar in 2007 after bringing his Everton Academy team across to play in a tournament at Aspire Academy. The management at Aspire liked what they saw in Simon's work and it wasn't long before they offered him a senior position in their academy for sporting excellence.
Along with a top class resume, Simon also holds the UEFA Pro License Coaching Qualification, which is the highest football qualification possible and one that is needed by any coach in Europe that wishes to coach at the highest level (Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Champions League etc).
With the support of Lekhwiya S.C, Simon has now started his very own football academy, Future International Football Academy sponsored by Qatar Living, which offers children the opportunity to experience top level professional football coaching here in Doha.
Future International Football Academy was founded in 2013 and currently has over 300 children benefiting from Simon's unrivaled experience and knowledge of the game.
The academy has an inclusion policy at the centre of its operations and welcomes all children aged 2-16 years old.
Working in partnership with Lekhwiya S.C, Future Football has opened up many unique opportunities to children and families here in Doha, such as playing on the Lekhwiya S.C Football Field inside the stadium, attending Lekhwiya S.C matches free of charge, being mascots for Lekhwiya S.C football matches, and being part of Future Football / Lekhwiya S.C fun days, that are a great way for buiding and strenghtening our community relations here in Qatar.
