Lusail University opens two-day career fair with 60+ employers

His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Samaikh Al Marri, Minister of Labor, inaugurated today the fourth edition of the two-day career fair organized by Lusail University, with the participation of more than 60 employers from the public and private sectors, including the sectors of education, energy, industry, finance and business, as well as charitable institutions and law firms.

The Ministry of Labor, represented by the National Manpower Employment and Rehabilitation and Skills Development Departments, is participating in the exhibition as part of its ongoing efforts to educate graduates about the specializations required in the labor market, and guide them towards career paths that are commensurate with their academic qualifications and professional skills, in line with the requirements of the National Emiratisation Plan and the National Development Strategy for a Competent Workforce with High Productivity 2024-2030, which aims to build a base of qualified and competitive national competencies capable of contributing to the growth of the national economy.

The Rehabilitation and Skills Development Department, through the Ministry's pavilion at the exhibition, provides introductory presentations on workshops, initiatives, programs and training courses provided by the Ministry to qualify Qatari graduates and children of Qatari women looking for work, as well as guide students towards study specializations that meet the needs of the labor market, and enhance their readiness to compete for job opportunities in various key economic sectors.

Mrs. Afrah Al-Athba, Director of the National Manpower Recruitment Department at the Ministry of Labor, stressed that the Ministry's participation in the Career Fair at Lusail University embodies its commitment to implementing Emiratisation goals, by aligning education outcomes with the needs of the labor market, and directing national competencies towards promising specializations and job opportunities in various sectors, in line with the directives of His Highness the Amir to enhance the participation of Qataris in the labor market, invest in their capabilities, and enable them to contribute effectively to the national development process.

She added that the participation aims to introduce students and graduates to the job opportunities available in the labor market, and enable them to explore different career paths, helping them make career choices that align with their qualifications and aspirations.

She explained that the Ministry is also keen to encourage students to benefit from the academic sponsorship programs and summer training opportunities it provides in various fields, in a way that contributes to developing their abilities, providing them with the necessary skills, and enhancing their readiness to join private sector jobs.

For her part, Mrs. Talila Al-Kuwari, Director of the Student Life Department at Lusail University, indicated that the university pays special attention to the effectiveness of the exhibition, stressing the university's keenness to complete the educational experience for students from entering the university and their academic career until graduation, as well as opening the horizons of the professional world for students and graduates.

She stressed the university's interest in providing full support to the participants in the career fair to ensure its success and achieve its goals optimally, especially as it believes in the importance of building bridges based on education and communication between the academic and professional sectors.

Al-Kuwari added that the two-day career fair includes many awareness activities about the labor market and the introduction of the required specializations and skills, and resume writing workshops were provided to students with the aim of helping them write a professional resume, pointing out that its main goal is to provide a platform that brings together students and graduates with employers, and opens promising prospects for employment and professional development, especially as it allows the participating entities to discover young competencies and attract talents, and gives students and graduates the opportunity to learn about the requirements of the labor market. Explore career opportunities, build effective professional relationships, and conduct direct interviews with recruiters to enhance their chances of launching into a successful career.
