After having successfully flattened the curve, Qatar has been gradually moving back toward normalcy.

As most public services and activities have now resumed in line with the preventive and precautionary measures set by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), there’s heightened hope that the country would soon be able to overcome the challenge.

In another positive news for expatriate workers, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs announced yesterday that it will resume the process of issuing labor recruitment approvals.

The process was put on hold temporarily in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, according to the MADLSA announcement, this service will be activated again from November 15, 2020.

In a statement, the ministry confirmed that the system will receive recruitment requests from companies in the first stage.

Each request will be studied and the employer's commitment to paying wages and the provision for decent workers’ accommodation will be assessed.

The Ministry also mentioned that the entry of new workers will depend on Qatar’s travel and return policy, based on specifications from the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management.

Recruitment approvals will be granted according to the actual needs of companies and establishments, the Ministry stated.
