The 15th edition of the Maghreb International Film Festival will take place in Oujda, Morocco, from October 16 to 21.
This year’s edition will be held under the theme “When the World Grows Dark, Cinema Shines.”
Feature and short-film competitions
The festival programme will include official competitions for both feature-length and short films, alongside screenings, tributes and discussions involving filmmakers and industry professionals.
The event will also host intellectual and professional forums aimed at encouraging dialogue around cinema and the wider audiovisual sector.
Workshops and support for young talent
Training workshops will form part of the festival, alongside activities connected to the cultural and digital industries.
These initiatives are designed to support young creatives and encourage greater participation in film and audiovisual production.
International jury participation
Filmmakers from Morocco, other Arab countries, Africa and Europe will serve on the festival’s two juries.
Moroccan director and screenwriter Nour-Eddine Lakhmari will chair the feature-film jury, while Moroccan director Adil El Fadili will lead the short-film jury.
