Mall of Qatar had announced the winners of its National Day School Art Competition which took place during the Qatar National Day.

The students competing in this competition came from 16 different schools in Qatar and the winners received valuable prizes, including Mall of Qatar gift cards worth up to QAR 5000.

The competition was held under the theme ‘How does Qatar 2022 look like to you?’ and was categorized based on age groups, ranging from 8-10, 11-13, and 14-16 years of age.

The annual National Day Art competition receives many participations each year and provides a platform for school students to express their artistic talents and skills.

Moreover, Mall of Qatar is currently displaying the winning artworks in their hallways to acknowledge the skills of these young artists.

It is part of the Mall of Qatar's social responsibility program that promotes emerging talents and encourages artistic and cultural initiatives. 

The jury panel consisted of Qatari artists Hanadi Al Darwish and Abdulaziz Sadiq, who evaluated the drawings and decided the winners after a fierce competition.

Shaden AlKhateeb from Al Manar International School Al Saad Branch won first place in the 8-10 category, whereas Naila Zahra Azka Mirag from Mesaieed International School got first place in the 11-13 age category.

Moreover, Karthika Purayil from MES Indian School won first place in the 14-16 age category.

Additionally, Mall of Qatar gave students and social media followers the chance to vote for the best drawing via an interactive voting portal shared among all participant schools while adding a new “People’s Choice” award for followers to vote also through Mall of Qatar social media platforms. 

The contest attracted a considerable number, with more than 30,000 voters selected their favorite drawings for the top places.
