With the aim to further enrich Doha's aesthetic appeal, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Department of Public Park, has allocated about QR750 million for projects related to landscaping and beautification of the city.

The projects will be implemented in two bundles over the coming years, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).

For the first tender QR250 million has been reserved to beautify seven main streets in Doha comprising Onaiza, Al Buhaira, Jelaiah, Khalifa, Al Markhiya, Al Duhail, and Al Qutaifiya.

This would allow full beautification, agricultural and landscaping enhancements, installments of sidewalks, interlocks, pedestrian walkways, bicycle paths, lighting poles and others along these locations.

An amount of almost QR500 million has been allocated for the rest of the projects in accordance with the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).

The project will involve a makeover of the Rawdat Al Khail and Ras Abu Aboud parks in addition to the establishment of new parks in Al Gharafa and Umm Al Seneem that will add to the list of Qatar's picturesque parks

The Ministry has formed a specialized team with members from the Department of Public Parks to oversee the beautification projects.

Earlier in March the Ministry also opened a new park in Al Shahaniya, one month after the official inaugration of the scenic Crescent Park in Lusail
