The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has called on all Muslims in Qatar to perform Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayer on Thursday, reported Gulf Times.
The prayer is in line with the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to seek for rainfall when rain is lacking.
The ministry called for the performance of Istisqa prayer at the state's mosques on Thursday the 20th of Safar 1439, AH corresponding to November 9, 2017 at 06.01 am, according to The Peninsula.
On the occasion, the ministry reminded Muslims of the requirement for the acceptance of dua (pleading to Allah) which include fasting, offering sadaqa, repentance to Allah, cleaning their bodies and using miswak.
