Qatar’s Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), continuing with its strict inspection campaigns to clamp down on errant retailers, has shut down another shop for selling counterfeit items.
The commercial outlet, situated in Souq Al Madina (City Market), was shut down for a one-month period for showcasing and selling counterfeit sports gear as genuine reputed brands, reported The Peninsula.
The ministry affirmed that it will be firm in dealing with all those who neglect to comply with their obligations under the Consumer Protection Law and its executive regulations, and will intensify its inspection campaigns to control such practices, according to Gulf Times.
