In its efforts to improve the services and facilities for beach goers in Qatar, the Ministry of Municipality revamped 15 beaches across Qatar with new services and recreational facilities. The Ministry published a list of the 15 developed beaches on its official twitter page earlier this week.

The beaches that have been renovated include:

  • Fuwairt Beach
  • Al Maroona Beach
  • Arida Beach
  • Al Ferkiah Beach
  • Simaisma Beach
  • Al Wakra Beach
  • Sealine Beach
  • Al Adaid Beach
  •  Al Mamlaha Beach (for women)
  • Al Ghariya Beach
  • Zikrit Beach
  • Dukhan Beach
  • Umm Bab Beach
  • Al Kharaij Beach (for singles)
  • Salwa Beach

Under the rehabilitation project carried out by the Ministry of Municipality the beaches have been provided with permanent toilets, new walkways, ample shade, kiosks, barbeque areas, play areas for children in addition to football and volleyball grounds. The Ministry also added solar powered lights in most beaches for visitors who wish to extend their visit into the night. For people with special needs, the Ministry has included dedicated walkways on some beaches to give them ease of access to the sea.

The Ministry further urged the public to follow its instructions to ensure that all beaches are well maintained. Instructions issued by the Ministry include the throwing away of garbage in the designated garbage bins, steering clear of lighting fires directly on the sand and  not burying charcoal ash in the sand. The Ministry noted that doing so can harm the nature of the sand and have an impact on the environment.

This renovation project is part of the Ministry’s efforts to renew the recreational facilities and services in all beaches and public parks in Qatar.
