The Ministry of Public Health issued the healthcare protocol and the public health measures during National Sport Day on February 8, 2022.
Those who are not fully vaccinated must show proof that they are Covid-19 free by taking the rapid antigen test within 24 hours before the activities.
Range and location of permitted activities
All group sports activities will be held outdoors with a maximum of 14 vaccinated individuals or five not fully vaccinated individuals such as children under the age of 12, exclusively for individual outdoor sporting activities.
Those who are not fully vaccinated must show proof that they are Covid-19 free by taking the rapid antigen test within 24 hours before the activities.
Participants are to maintain a social distance of at least one meter.
Organizers, participants, and spectators must fully adhere to the health procedures, wear masks at all times unless participating in tough sports that may prevent breathing during practice. However, masks must be used during light sports such as walking.
The other measures include maintaining social distancing, cleaning hands using sterilizers, and other measures imposed by the Ministry of Public Health.
Participants can use their own transport or taxis to arrive for training, preparation or participation in the event, so the total number of passengers in each vehicle does not exceed 4 people, including the driver. Everyone must wear the masks on the trip.
According to the Ministry of Public Health, all sports training devices can be used in parks.
We advise you to avoid shaking hands, hugging, or kissing each other at all times.
Participants should not share clothes, towels, soap pieces, or other personal items among themselves, and must use their drinking bottles and not share them with others. Wash hands frequently with soap and water or use an alcohol-containing hand sanitizer.
Hand sanitizers should be available throughout sports activity venues.
Participants and spectators should be reminded to adhere to health procedures, especially social distance, and masks. Also, participants should avoid using shower rooms and shared changing rooms in all places.
All participants must download the Ehtraz app, those with a green status will be allowed to participate.
Ensure that the environment and used area is cleaned and cleared, give a visual reminder and health awareness materials such as banners or posters.
Participations from outside Qatar:
The conditions for travel must be applied to guests invited from outside of Qatar.
A swab from arrivals is required for Covid-19 testing within 36 hours of arrival.
Participants who have tested positive for Covid-19 are prohibited to participate unless they have fully recovered (That is, after 7 days with a PCR or RAT test on Day 7, with a release from isolation on Day 8, if negative. If positive, a further 3 days in isolation with release on Day 11 without requiring testing).
Catering:
Meals are allowed at all public places, restaurants and food services must comply with the Ministry of Public Health’s guidelines. A distance of 2 meters is to be maintained between the dining tables in all directions. A maximum of 4 people on the same table and one meter between them.
Food outlets at event venues are best limited to take away in disposable packages. Outdoor dining is also possible.
Safe distance of at least one meter between people in the queue for meals is a must. The ground markings indicate the distance and ensure compliance. Staff or volunteers must monitor and ensure compliance. It also allows the buffet to be served with assistance at licensed restaurants associated with the “Clean Qatar Program”.
Other general health measures:
Placing containers with covers to get rid of used napkins available on all buses, at all facilities and in places where the public and participants sit.
Participants who feel sick should not come to the places of activity or training. Instead they need to get checked at the nearest health center.
Meetings are highly encouraged to be held online. However, In-person meetings must not exceed the maximum number of 15 attendees simultaneously . Also, a safe distance of one meter and committing to wearing masks for all throughout the meetings.
Social gatherings will be permitted in accordance with the procedures followed in due course.
Ensure the implementation of good health signs, preparation rooms, toilets, training facilities, activities, etc.
All teams and volunteers are to be informed of the Covid-19 protocols, infection prevention, control measures, and where information can be found by the staff.
Attendees and spectators:
Public attendance of sports activities during the sports day is permitted at the prescribed rates for each event after approval by the Ministry of Public Health with a minimum distance of one meter in all directions.
All individuals must download the Ehtraz app, those with a green status will be given access to public places.
Avoid congestion when entering or exiting public areas, maintaining consistent social distancing.
Smoking is prohibited in terraces and public places. The rooms and areas for smoking must be approved by the Ministry of Public Health.
Activities open for the public are not considered safe for vulnerable groups such as persons over the age of 60, people with chronic diseases and persons with disabilities. It is advised to not attend or encourage to attend such activities due to health and safety reasons.
