A special mission from the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights is set to visit Doha next month with the aim of investigating the humanitarian impact and violations caused by the blockade.

The mission, which will be in Doha from November 18 to 23, will also assess the situation of citizens and residents of Qatar, said National Human Rights Committee chairman Dr Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, reported Gulf Times.

The top official said that the UN mission would be provided with all information, documents, evidences and names of victims in order  to report back to the High Commissioner for Human Rights, according to The Peninsula.

Al Marri’s comments came during a hearing hosted by the Scottish National Party MP Tommy Sheppard, who is in charge of the Scottish Affairs Committee in the UK Parliament, in the presence of members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

Al Marri handed the MPs the reports containing information about human rights violations, violations against Qatari students and pilgrims as well as visits by international organisations since the siege took place, reported Qatar Tribune.
