The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has announced that all schools across Qatar will implement a fingerprint-based attendance system starting September.
The move aims to enhance student safety and security while enabling parents to closely monitor their children’s attendance records.
According to the Ministry, the new system will digitally record students’ arrival and departure times, helping schools maintain accurate attendance data and respond quickly in case of any irregularities. The initiative is also expected to strengthen communication between schools and parents by providing timely updates on student attendance.
The fingerprint system will be rolled out across government and private schools in phases ahead of the new academic year.
MoEHE said the step is part of its broader efforts to adopt smart solutions in the education sector and ensure a safe, well-monitored learning environment for students across the country.
Parents are advised to stay in touch with their respective schools for further details on implementation procedures and guidelines.
