On December 23, 2022, the Abu Samra border crossing will resume regular operations, according to a statement from the Ministry of Interior (MOI). Previously, circulars were announced about limited entry procedures through Abu Samra border checkpoint for FIFA World Cup Qatar.

Starting December 23, travelers arriving at the Abu Samra border crossing will be subject to the regular procedures that include producing relevant authorized travel documents.

The general public must proceed to finish their vehicle insurance in advance. The Ministry advises this step for easier entry via the port. Vehicle insurance procedures can be done on this website.
