Details concerning the process of submitting grievances and objections on the preliminary lists of candidates for the Shura Council elections have been announced by the Ministry of Interior (MoI), which will be announced later on Monday at the Candidates Committee headquarters in the Hall of Events at Qatar University and at the electoral districts.
The Ministry said in a statement that objections and grievances on the preliminary lists of candidates should be submitted to the Candidates Committee at its headquarters in Qatar University's Hall of Events and at the electoral districts for a three-day period beginning Tuesday and ending Thursday, September 2, from 4 pm to 8 pm.

In terms of objection and grievance procedures, the statement stated that if a candidate's candidacy application is rejected, the candidate has the right to file a grievance, and every voter or candidate in their electoral district has the right to object to a candidate's inclusion in a list of candidates in the same district due to the lack of any of the criteria for membership in it.
Furthermore, the grievance and objection can be presented in writing on a form designed for this purpose, along with supporting documents, stating the reasons for the request.
According to MoI, the Candidates Committee is responsible for reviewing and adjudicating objections and grievances within seven days of their submission, and failure to respond within that time frame is regarded as an implicit rejection.
The final candidate lists will be announced at the electoral district headquarters and the electoral campaign season will commence on Wednesday, September 15.
Those whose objections or grievances are denied may file a fee-free appeal to the Administrative Appeals Chamber of the Court of Appeal against the committee's decision within three days of receiving notification at their National Address, or if the seven-day period has passed without a response, according to the statement.
