The Ministry of Interior (MoI) in Qatar has issued a reminder urging electric scooter users to strictly use designated scooter lanes and refrain from riding on motor vehicle roads.

Using vehicle lanes instead of those designated for scooters is considered a traffic violation and significantly endangers both motorists and scooter riders, compromising public safety.

The MoI emphasizes the importance of adhering to the following safety guidelines for the responsible use of electric scooters:

1. Avoid excessive speeds

2. Avoid using roadways designated for motor vehicles

3. Wear a helmet

4. Hold the handlebars with both hands

5. Pay attention to the road
