Qatar has always come forth with its strong support to help countries across the world in terms of education.

Through national and private institutions of higher education, the country has been working in partnership with international as well as non-profit organizations to provide educational opportunities to millions of young people, children, displaced persons around the world.

In support of the Education Above All initiative (EAA), chaired by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Msheireb Properties reiterated its commitment to supporting the global effort to protect education through spreading awareness of the first ‘International Day to Protect Education from Attack' on September 9.

In a social responsibility to support the initiatives of EAA, which endeavors to secure quality education for all children, especially at times of wars and conflicts, Barahat Msheireb at Msheireb Downtown Doha was decorated with laser lights and colors to celebrate the international event.

Besides, a giant billboard of Msheireb Properties and Qatar Academy-Msheireb management has been installed at the place to raise awareness and support the local-global efforts to protect education from attack.

Mr. Ali Al Kuwari, Acting CEO of Msheireb Properties said, "Msheireb Properties is proud to support this new global initiative in Qatar to protect education from attack. It is celebrated for the first time and reiterates Qatar's humanitarian message to the world. Our contribution today at Msheireb Downtown Doha is to raise awareness in the community about this critical issue to reflect our commitment to the broader community".

"We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to Education Above All Foundation, and HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser, the chairman, for shedding the lights on this issue and make it global attention," Mr. Al Kuwari added.

Yesterday saw a significant move forward in Qatar’s endeavor to advance the right to education globally as the world marked the first International Day to Protect Education from Attack.

The day was formally recognized under United Nations General Assembly Resolution A/74/275, earlier this year, in an effort spearheaded by Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser on behalf of the State of Qatar. At least 62 countries co-sponsored the Resolution.
