Qatar has made it even easier for visitors from across the globe to come to the country under a new electronic visitor authorization system.

Introduced by the Ministry of Interior (MOI) and Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC), the new electronic system allows residents of Qatar to invite family and relatives from around the world to visit Qatar amid the ongoing ‘Summer in Qatar’ (SIQ) program.

Between June 4 to August 16, visitors can obtain a free visa upon arrival through the online portal: http://www.qatarvisaservices.com.

“The new electronic visitor authorization system helps solidify Qatar’s ranking as the most open country in the region in terms of visa facilitation,” said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Akbar Al Baker.

“The implementation of this system is a significant achievement for Qatar, as it streamlines the application process, enabling visitors of all nationalities to apply to enter our country and receive a free visa upon arrival. We are proud to offer a warm Qatari welcome to [the] visitors and look forward to offering them a taste of our genuine Arabian hospitality,” he added.

The UN World Tourism Organization recently ranked Qatar as the ‘Most Open Destination in the Middle East’ and the eighth most open destination worldwide in terms of visa facilitation.

This new facility during SIQ will further add to Qatar’s openness and elevate the experiences of visitors arriving in the country.  

The national airlines is also offering passengers up to 25 per cent discount on airfares for all flights to Doha as a final destination from more than 160 destinations worldwide. The discount is valid on bookings until August 15.

This ‘Summer in Qatar’ brings a host of thrilling indoor activities and outdoor experiences, offering citizens, residents, and visitors an unforgettable experience in the country.

Entertainment programs will feature regional and international artists, edutainment, sports camps and special promotions on inbound travel, hospitality and shopping.

Nine malls across Doha will embrace the festivities and offer attractive retail offers with savings of up to 70 per cent! There is also a chance to win up to USD $2 million in prizes, including the grand prize of a McLaren 570S.
