Qatar has been pulling out all the stops to prevent the novel coronavirus from entering the country.
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has once again confirmed that no case of the infection has been detected in Qatar.
Earlier this month, the Ministry announced it carried out laboratory tests on 25 suspected cases but the results proved the individuals were free of the virus.
The Ministry had also assured the public that it had scaled up monitoring, preparedness and precautionary efforts in a bid to ward off the virus.

Now, in another statement, the Ministry reaffirmed that it is consistently keeping up with global developments on the virus and is well aware of its presence in the region.
MoPH said it is developing screening procedures according to the information it receives from the World Health Organization (WHO).
Citizens and residents have been cautioned against traveling to China and also asked to avoid unnecessary travel to other countries where the virus has been found including South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Iran, among others.
If traveling is necessary then individuals should follow necessary precautions such as washing hands frequently and avoiding contact with any person who has visible symptoms of respiratory infections, MoPH said.
Those who return to Qatar from these countries must monitor their health for 14 days of arriving back and should report to the concerned health authorities if they notice symptoms related to respiratory infections.
Once again, the ministry said in case any cases are reported; the country is well prepared to manage and treat them and quarantine patients when required.
In addition to shoring up its monitoring procedures, the country has also been working to raise awareness among the public on the correct information about the virus and the ways to prevent it.
