The Philippine Embassy in Qatar has announced that it will be temporarily closed from today until further notice.
According to the embassy advisory issued on August 11, 2020, the closure comes after a family member of one of the embassy’s employees tested positive for COVID-19.
"In the interest of the safety of the general public, the Philippine embassy stopped its services earlier today (August 11) and will be temporarily closed starting August 12, until further notice," the advisory stated.

The advisory further mentioned that although its premises is closed, the embassy can be accessed through the following ways for queries and concerns:
- Email - doha.pe@dfa.gov.ph
- Hotline - 55275123 (for consular concerns such as passport, civil registry, marriage, authentication, etc); and 66446303 (for police cases and other concerns)

The embassy will inform the Filipino community and the general public of further developments once available.
