People who are going from Doha to Al Khor, be advised that there is a diversion in a 1km stretch of roa, located after the Woqod Petrol Station.

The diversion will start from today and will be in place for at least six months, reported Gulf Times.

Traffic on this section of Al Khor Road will be diverted to a newly-constructed temporary road parallel to the closed road, which includes two lanes in each direction, reported The Peninsula.

The diversion aims to allow the construction of the signal-controlled intersection No. 8 on Al Khor Road, which will provide a new route to the Al Bayt Stadium.

It will include the construction of 5.3kms of roads, with three lanes in each direction, all leading to four sides of the stadium. These roads will facilitate access to bus stations and car parking around the stadium.

Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the diversion, and urged all road users to abide by the new speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
