According to Captain Mohammad Mubarak Al Buainain, an officer at the Airport Passport Department, the number of passport counters and e-gates will be increased during peak hours, taking travelers merely 20 to 35 minutes to exit the airport.
The enhanced procedures aim to facilitate and speed up travel procedures, especially when there are a large number of passengers arriving at the airport simultaneously in Qatar.
Al Buainain noted that the procedures differ from one traveler to another, with arranging passengers in counters for vaccinated and unvaccinated people being one of the important processes.
He stated that the department has an annual strategy in place to make it easier for travelers to return during this time of year when a big number of citizens return from their yearly break.
Due to the loosening of travel restrictions imposed by various nations, including Qatar, this year has seen a lot of activity.
Furthermore, Al Buainain stated that the number of counters, workers, and e-gates has been raised to accommodate the increasing number of arriving passengers.
