The Qatar Sports for All Federation, under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, announced its participation in organizing the "We Run Doha" race, in cooperation with the French club Paris Saint-Germain, which is scheduled to be held on October 30 at the Lusail International Circuit, with the expected participation of up to 2000 male and female contestants of various age groups.
The race includes three distances, including one kilometer for children, and 5 and 10 kilometers for adults, with the participation of families, youth, runners and corporate teams, as part of encouraging various segments of society to practice physical activity and promoting the culture of sports as a way of life, while registration is available for all ages and nationalities through the Qatar Sports for All app.
Abdulla Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, stressed that the race represents an important addition to the calendar of community sports events in the State of Qatar, pointing out that the cooperation with Paris Saint-Germain gives the event a distinctive character, and provides participants with the opportunity to experience a sporting experience that combines a global and local dimension.
In a statement, Al-Dossari said that the diversity of the race's distances reflects the organizers' keenness to provide the opportunity for different age groups and fitness levels to participate, which contributes to expanding the base of runners and enhancing the demand for community sports activities.
He added that the choice of Lusail International Circuit to host the race gives participants an exceptional experience, given the global status of the circuit and its hosting of many major sporting events, stressing that holding the race at this location is an additional factor to attract participants.
The Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation expressed his hope that the race will witness wide participation and a distinctive competitive atmosphere, which contributes to consolidating the culture of practicing sports and encouraging community members to adopt healthy and active lifestyles.
The race is part of efforts to promote community sport in Qatar, and to provide a variety of sporting events that allow different age groups to practice physical activity in an environment that combines competition and fun.
