In cooperation with Qatar University and Ajial Educational Center, QC organized the ‘Wathiq’ summer camp to provide children and youth with cultural knowledge and life and sports skills.

This comes as a part of Qatar Charity’s keenness to spend the summer vacation of students in enjoyable and useful activities.

The one-month summer camp, which kicked off on July 4, includes training, educational, recreational, and sports activities.

Around 40 male and female students aged 5-14 years have registered for the camp. The male and female students have separately been divided into the age groups of ‘5-9’ and ’10-14’, taking into account the coronavirus precautionary measures.

“This camp is an extension and continuation of Qatar Charity’s efforts to organize such activities for our students during the summer holidays,” said the director of the Programs and Community Development department at Qatar Charity, Fatima Jumah AlMohannadi, indicating that this comes based on Qatar Charity’s belief in nurturing and enhancing the talents and capabilities of the participants to build a pioneering generation seeking to develop the country.

She praised cooperation with Ajial Educational Centre, thanking Qatar University, which provided a training hall for activities.

“The cooperation with Qatar Charity is one of the important partnerships of Ajial Educational Center, because Qatar Charity is a leading organization in its field, and this enhances the center's role towards community and the country,” said the camp supervisor, Abu Bakr Mousa.

He added that this camp has a qualitative value for the participating students, because it provides them with options to focus on the skills that they need to improve, indicating that the activities offered through this camp are designed to promote a culture of optimal investment of time and utilize it to develop capabilities and mental talents and arrange life priorities.

The students expressed their happiness with participating in this camp. The student Al-Jowhara Al-Thani said that she benefited greatly from this camp because it made her look at life with love and positivity, noting that she learned that the first stage of success is self-confidence.

The student Muhammad Al-Emadi said that it has become clear that the role of Qatar Charity is not limited to its humanitarian projects implemented abroad, but it also attaches importance to the development of Qatari society by training and educating young people in Qatar. He stated that he learned how to arrange his priorities and know his responsibilities towards himself, his society and his country.

The student Khaled Ahmed Al-Buainain said that he learned that a person must be brought up in a culture of volunteering and giving to be useful for his society and country.

Qatar Charity, through its community development centers across the State of Qatar, has regularly launched activities and summer camps to offers workshops, give lectures, and organize special events. Hundreds of boys and girls have benefited from Qatar Charity’s such activities and events in the past years.
