Qatar’s population at the end of August 2017 was 2,471,919 people, marking a decrease of 1% from July 2017 and an increase of 2% from August 2016, according to the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics.

The released numbers did not include Qatari nationals or non-Qataris with residency permits who were outside the State boundaries on July 31, 2017.

In July, the total number of males in the country were 1,923,933 and females were 547,986 for a total number of 2,471,919. Last month, the numbers were 1,946,555, 599,265 and 2,545,820 respectively.

The total number of men in July 2016 was 1,837,797 and those of women were 488,668 for a total of 2,326,465. This was 2% less than the current numbers.
