Under an ambition to take the Qatar-Seychelles bilateral cooperation to new heights, the leaders of the two friendly countries held official talks in Doha yesterday.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President Wavel Ramkalawan met at the Sheikh Abdullah Bin Jassim Majlis at the Amiri Diwan.

During the session, the two sides highlighted the depth of their friendship that has existed for over three decades, the State House - Office of the President of the Republic of Seychelles mentioned in a statement.

The session also looked into ways to further develop and strengthen the Qatar-Seychelles bond, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, tourism, and sports.

Additionally, the two leaders exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.

HH the Amir and President Wavel also witnessed the signing of two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to boost joint work in the fields of military and sports.

Several of their Excellencies the Ministers joined the meeting and were also present at the signing ceremony.

HH the Amir also hosted a luncheon banquet at the Amiri Diwan in honor of the visiting President and the delegation accompanying him.

Earlier, upon arrival at Hamad International Airport, President Wavel and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry and the Ambassador of Qatar to Seychelles.
