Qatar Tourism launched the ‘Qatar Tourism Awards 2023’ on Tuesday, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, which is aimed at identifying, recognising and rewarding those working in the tourism industry.

The award, launched in partnership with the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), will celebrate contributions to the excellence and uniqueness of the visitor experience in Qatar.

Qatar Tourism Chairman and Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker, along with Qatar Tourism’s Chief Operating Officer Berthold Trenkel launched the award today.

The Qatar Tourism Awards will recognise individuals and businesses that consistently exceed the country’s service delivery standards. In close collaboration with the World Tourism Organization, Qatar Tourism aims to establish the highest possible quality standards for the country’s growing tourism sector.

Qatar Tourism Awards will include three main categories — Service Excellence, Cultural Experience and Smart Solutions. Each category will contain multiple subcategories, totalling 50 awards.

The awards will aim to recognize service excellence in the tourism sector.

Entries for individuals and organisations can be submitted online from May 12 until July 31. Shortlisted entries will then be handed over to the jury and the winner will be announced during a glittering ceremony in November.
