His Excellency Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah met with the Turkish Minister of National Defence Hulusi Akar and the Libyan Minister of Interior Fathi Bashagha in the Turkish capital Ankara yesterday.
The meeting delved into the most recent developments in the region and internationally, in particular the developments in Libya, Qatar News Agency reported.

Qatar's ambassador to Libya Mohamed bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani and Qatar's Military Attache in Ankara Brigadier General Mohamed Rashid Al Awami also participated in the meeting.
Moreover, HE Al Attiyah and his Turkish counterpart also discussed bilateral relations between Qatar and Turkey in the field of defence. The ministers explored ways of further strengthening the Qatari-Turkish defence ties in a meeting. Brigadier General Mohamed Rashid Al Awami also joined this meeting.

Earlier this week, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani had met the Turkish Defense Minister and the delegation accompanying him at the Al Bahr Palace in Qatar.
Qatar and Turkey have maintained strong military ties and continue to cooperate across this field among several others.
