Qatar’s Ministry of Labour (MoL) is taking steps to simplify the process of making changes to job titles in the country.

The MoL has unveiled a digital service that will help amend occupations under a general permit, allowing employers to apply for job changes on behalf of their employees.

The process can now be completed online, instead of having to visit the ministry’s main office or its branches. The new service aligns with MoL’s strategy to develop a digital infrastructure for the labour sector.

The new service will allow employers to modify the occupation/profession of their employees with a valid work permit. They will also be able to inquire about the status of their application.

The service will allow a direct progression to the attestation system for contracts between employer and employee and export information about the modified occupation to the Ministry of Interior.

The employment contract can also be downloaded from the e-portal.

The MoL aims to streamline processes by eliminating the need to visit the ministry’s offices and submit physical paperwork. Comprehensive online services will be made easily accessible to everyone in the labour market interacting with the Ministry.
