Every Sunday, the Qatar Living content team will share their personal recommendations for everything from apps to films and brunches this week in Qatar. As a multinational group, there's a diversity of choices and preference that we hope will cater to everybody.

1. Try authentic Thai flavors at QIFF
The Westin Doha Hotel and Spa will participation at the much-anticipated 9th Annual Qatar International Festival (QIFF 2018) which will take place from the 15th until the 25th of March at the Hotel Park.
During this year’s event, the Thai restaurant Sabai Thai has been chosen to represent the hotel. I have been to their Saturday brunch and I have to say the food is very good and authentic. If you are visiting QIFF I would recommend making a stop at their booth.
The menu will consist of an assortment of the restaurant’s best-seller dishes, from salads and starters such as the green papaya salad, vegetable spring rolls, prawn crackers, to main courses consisting of fish, chicken, duck and tiger prawns in addition to sweets such as the famous sweet Thai mango with sticky rice.

2. Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF)
One of the most anticipated food events in Qatar is just around the corner and I couldn't be more excited. You probably don't need me to tell you this, but QIFF is a multicultural festival that celebrates the best of food and entertainment the country has to offer.
It's the usual line up of activities on the agenda for the 9th edition. The festival will feature over 170 food stalls, 6 food trucks, a farmer's market and a mini-zoo for the first time ever. However, organizers have decided to drop the Dinner in the Sky experience.
The Live Cooking Theater will again be the centerpiece of the festival that will feature world renowned chefs like Wolfgang Puck, Masharu Morimoto and the winner of the 2012 US MaterChef, Christine Ha.
#QIFF2018 promises to be the hangout spot for your family and friends. And do look out for the QL Team as we will be there to film the next episode of Dohalicious. For more details, visit www.qifoodfestival.qa

3. FLIK Cinema (Mirqab Mall)
Located on the third floor of Mirqab Mall, this latest addition to the FLIK cinemas chain is a truly fantastic setup. I went there to watch Black Panther a few weeks ago, and it was by far my most comfortable viewing experience since I arrived in Qatar. Cinema-going can be frustrating these days, what with the mobile phone activity and all, so I don't venture out to watch movies as often as I used to. FLIK cinemas however, has a class about it that separates it from most other cinemas. With 5-star service, a snack menu to die for and seating than feels more comfortable than your favourite lounge chair, I have a feeling I will be a regular customer. No, I wasn't paid to say all this, I'm just a guy who takes his movie watching seriously. But... I'd be happy to accept a movies for a year voucher, Thanks FLIK.

4. UNEDITED FOOTAGE OF A BEAR (2014)
I remember watching some unedited footage of a bear on YouTube around three years ago. Not sure what kind of bear it was but it was pretty good. I’m sure the video’s still online somewhere, here, let me Google it for you:

Give it a watch, it’s not like you have anything better to do.

5. The Cheesecake Factory
This week I’m recommending a restaurant that’s been here for a while now, but I hadn't had the chance to give it a try until recently, The Cheesecake Factory.
As a big fan of the ‘Big Bang Theory’, I’ve always wanted to try the Cheesecake Factory. It was the restaurant that Penny worked at, and where Sheldon and the gang usually hang out.
I always wanted to give it a try, and needless to say, I wasn’t disappointed. I tried the Oreo dream extreme cheesecake and the Godiva chocolate cheese cake. Both were decadent and delicious.
The Mall of Qatar branch has a beautiful view of the Oasis, which adds to the beauty of the experience.

6. The Omen (2006)
This week's recommendation is the film The Omen (2006), which is a remake of The Omen that released in 1976. Robert Thorn adopts an orphaned newborn after receiving information that his son died during childbirth unbeknownst to his wife. The adopted son who is named Damien, is purportedly evil as per the accounts of the priest who was present during Damien's birth. Wherever the child goes, bad omens would show up and tragedies happen. As the movie goes on the truth unfolds and it's quite a heart-racing experience. Satan is invoved (surprise, surprise).

7. LensCulture(.com)
This beautiful website is a photography network and online magazine about contemporary photography in art, media, politics, commerce and popular cultures across the globe.
It's been called one of the ten best photography sites out there, and for good reason. Aside from the fact that the content is mindblowing, it's organised in a way that's easy to access, and grouped in a manner that is pretty much seamless. See for yourself: www.lensculture.com.
Also, be sure to check out their feature for International Women's Day 2018.
